About Alex

Hi, I’m Alex, originally from Germany and currently based in Tokyo.I’ve been teaching languages for over 8 years, including 4 years teaching German online, and have helped 350+ students improve their German.As a language learner myself, I know what it’s like to learn a new language from scratch. I’ve learned Japanese to a conversational level and I’m currently learning Mandarin Chinese.That’s why my lessons focus on helping you actually use German confidently in real-life situations.

How does it work?

  1. Book your trial lesson: We assess your current German level, goals, strengths, challenges, interests and real-life communication needs.

  2. Receive your personalized learning plan: After your trial lesson, you’ll receive a clear personalized report with your current level, key strengths, areas for improvement and a realistic 5-, 10- and 20-lesson learning roadmap.

  3. Choose your lesson package: Choose the option that works best for you and start booking your lessons.

  4. Start your personalized lessons: Every lesson is built around your individual learning plan, goals and interests. You’ll practise relevant vocabulary, grammar and real-life communication instead of following a generic textbook from page to page.

  5. We adjust your lessons as you improve: We use your previous lessons, recurring difficulties and progress to decide what to practise next. If something isn’t secure yet, we review it before moving on.

  6. See your improvements: In every 5th lesson, you’ll complete a short progress check based only on what you’ve learned so far. Afterwards, you’ll receive a personalized Progress Report showing your improvements, current strengths, areas still developing, and what we’ll focus on next.
